A new intramedullary fixation option for clavicle fracture management

Clavicle fractures present a unique fixation challenge. The clavicle has a complex, curved anatomy and lies directly beneath the skin, making implant selection and surgical approach important considerations for each individual patient.
While plate-and-screw fixation remains an established and widely used treatment option, the TST Clavicle Nail provides surgeons with an alternative intramedullary approach to clavicle stabilization.
Designed for the Anatomy of the Clavicle
Unlike a conventional straight intramedullary implant, the TST Clavicle Nail is designed to accommodate the natural curvature of the clavicle.
The system allows both medial and lateral application, providing flexibility for different fracture configurations and surgical preferences.
The nail is available in:
- Diameters: 3.0 mm, 3.5 mm and 4.0 mm
- Lengths: 90 mm to 130 mm
- Solid nail construction
- Oblique locking
- Reamed or unreamed application
- Medial or lateral insertion
According to TST, the system is intended for clavicle fractures and can also be considered in the management of malunion and nonunion.
An Intramedullary Alternative to Plate Fixation
The objective is not to suggest that every clavicle fracture should be treated with a nail.
Plate fixation continues to be an important and versatile solution, particularly where fracture pattern, reduction requirements or surgeon preference favor direct visualization and plate stabilization.
The TST Clavicle Nail adds another option.
By positioning the implant within the medullary canal of the clavicle, surgeons can consider a different fixation strategy in appropriately selected fractures rather than relying exclusively on an extramedullary plate construct.
This gives surgeons greater flexibility to select the fixation method according to the fracture pattern, clavicular anatomy and individual patient requirements.
